1.  BREAKFAST   On Thursday morning, November 4, 2010, at about 9:00 AM, the Sunset Canyon Baptist Church Pre-School program invites all veterans to come have breakfast with them.  There will be a short patriotic program by some very talented young American Patriots.  The food and the talent are both great.  This program is to show appreciation for all our veterans.  Please try to attend.  Sunset Canyon Baptist Church is located on Highway 290 about 4 miles east of Dripping Springs.

 2.  VETERANS IN THE CLASSROOM   On Tuesday, November 9, 2010 a group of veterans from the local American Legion Post 290 and the VFW Post 2933 will be at the Dripping Springs Middle School for a program that places veterans in several classrooms.  Veterans will introduce themselves, tell the students a little bit about their military jobs and duties, and then answer questions from students.  Veterans will be in the school from about 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.  Any local veterans, especially those with service from the Gulf War, Iraq, or Afghanistan, or the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), are invited to attend and participate in this program.  Come to the Middle School main office at about 9:30 AM and check in with the school office personnel.  They will direct you to the classrooms.

 3.  VETERANS DAY PROGRAM   On Wednesday, November 10, 2010, our local American Legion and VFW veterans will have two ceremonies at Rooster Springs Elementary School in the Belterra Subdivision.  These will be at approximately 8:15 and 8:45 AM.

 4.  VETERANS DAY PROGRAM    On Thursday, November 11, 2010, our local American Legion and VFW veterans will conduct flag raising ceremonies and short speeches at Dripping Springs Elementary School and at Walnut Springs Elementary School.  The times are at approximately 8:00-9:15 AM.  Veterans will then have a program at the Middle School at approximately 9:30-10:15 AM, and at the High School at approximately 10:30-11:30.  Colors will be posted and there will be a guest speaker at the High School.  Our veterans and families will eat lunch at the High School following the program.

All local veterans, of all eras, are encouraged to attend these ceremonies and to participate in the events.  If you are on active duty or if you are serving in the National Guard or Reserves and have children in our schools, we would like you to attend at your children’s school.  Wear your uniform if possible. It would be a great honor to have you there.

 5.  ROTARY CLUB PROGRAM   On Thursday evening, November 11, 2010 there will be a Veteran’s Day Tribute at the Dripping Springs Middle School cafeteria.  This event is from 6:00-8:00 PM and is sponsored by the Dripping Springs Rotary Club. There will be patriotic music, entertainment, food, and a silent auction.  All veterans and their families are invited and encouraged to attend this great event.  It has been held for the past several years and is always enjoyable for everyone.

November 10, 2010 is the 235th Birthday of the United States Marine Corps.  Fly your USMC flags and tell all of your Marine friends and family members Happy Birthday!!  Semper Fi Marines!
